Compressed Air Energy Efficiency & Audits

Compressed Air Energy Efficiency

Compressed air performance should be evaluated at system level: generation, treatment, storage, distribution and end use. Equipment replacement is not always the first or most effective improvement.

Where to look first

  • Measure demand and pressure over representative operating periods
  • Identify leaks and unnecessary air consumption
  • Evaluate pressure setpoints and distribution losses
  • Review compressor sequencing, unloaded running and storage
  • Assess treatment losses, maintenance condition and heat recovery opportunities

Energy Audit Framework

A credible assessment combines measured electrical consumption, delivered air flow, demand variability, site operating hours and an agreed reference baseline. Savings estimates should not be advertised without supporting data.
